The mission of the Community Affairs Section is to assist in
lowering the crime rate by educating the public on how to solve
problems in their neighborhoods and to further police-community
relations in the County of Atlantic. The mission is
pursued through a series of programs and activities conducted in
the county that focuses on crime prevention techniques that are
proactive and risk reduction orientated.
The crime prevention role is one of inducement, coordination and
systematic service to members of the County in order to prevent
and reduce crime and the fear of crime.
The Community Affairs Unit helps to establish an interaction
between
the citizens of Atlantic County and the Sheriffs Office.
We offer many different program that will appeal to the young
and old including but not limited to: Fraud Prevention, Senior
Safety, Youth Safety, Internet Safety, Bicycle Safety, Child
Safety Seats, Home Security, & Business Security. We often
cooperate with other agencies in addressing groups or
organizations about a number of topics. If you find you have a
unique topic not listed above, give us a call and we may be able
to develop a new presentation for you.
